Frequently asked questions

Is Statistics Calculator a final answer?

No. It is an estimate based on the inputs and formula shown on the page; verify it against your contract, rules, and circumstances.

Why is the result different from another source?

Inputs, rounding, fees, rates, dates, and formula conventions can all produce different results.

Can I use this for a medical, financial, or legal decision?

Do not rely on it alone. Consult a qualified professional for health, lending, tax, investment, or legal decisions.

Dataset calculation method

The tool parses the entered numbers, sorts a copy for order statistics, then calculates count, sum, arithmetic mean, median, population variance, and population standard deviation. Variance is the average squared distance from the mean.

Example check: for 1, 2, 3, the mean and median are both 2; population variance is 2/3 and population standard deviation is √(2/3).
